Recommended for 10 years running by the Good Pub Guide, and featuring in the Michelin, AA and Good Beer Guides, Cross Foxes is a picturesque British pub near Wrexham. Perched on the banks of the River Dee, Cross Foxes offsets its 250-year history with an exciting, contemporary menu.

Refined gastro pub cuisine on the Cross Foxes menu takes international influence. An Indonesian vegetable curry is served with rice and mango salsa, while fruity apricot, mint and pomegranate couscous perfectly balances Moroccan-spiced roasted monkfish tail. Hearty, local dishes include Home Farm Overton pork and herb sausages with mash, cabbage and onion gravy, and a comforting chicken and ham hock pie.

There’s also a children’s menu and a range of light bites at Wrexham pub, Cross Foxes, which boasts a pretty paved al fresco terrace overlooking the river. Inside, rustic wooden beams watch over a brick hearth and earthy floor tiles, a warm setting for a range of sophisticated wines.
