The inn is mentioned in the Doomsday Book in 1084 when it was most likely a shepherd’s cottage built halfway between the shepherd’s homes and the traditional grazing pastures. In 1520 the cottage became an Inn with a charter allowing shepherds to warm their sickly lambs by the fires.

Hand carved roasts – our Sunday best

The Sunday roast is a Great British pub-food tradition The Lamb Inn wholeheartedly honour – and as a country pub, it’s our duty to offer the fine folk of Pevensey Marsh a fitting feast every weekend.

Tuck into Sundays, Vintage style

Sundays at your favourite Vintage are the perfect occasion to gather together your loved ones. We serve a minimum of two of the following hand-carved meats plus a vegetarian option, as always with crispy roast potatoes, fresh vegetables and lashings of gravy…

  • Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding
  • Roast turkey with stuffing
  • Herb crusted loin of sweet-cured pork
  • Carrot and nut roast

Our freshly roasted Sunday dinners are very popular and whilst we try to serve them until 5pm, once they are gone that’s it I’m afraid until next Sunday!

To wash it all down, we recommend one of our fine wines or seasonal cask ales. Roast beef and real ale – now there’s a rare Sunday pairing.

  1. We always love dining at The Lamb, but today (Mother’s Day) was a big disappointment. Firstly, having booked weeks ago we were told that it was a set menu for Mothers day and we had to phone in our menu preferences at least a week before. Unbeknown to us people were still able to order a la carte meals and got decent portions, but we were told it was only a Mothers day menu available. My husband’s fish was half the size of the normal portion (more like a child’s portion) and it was mostly batter. We would have far rather paid more and got a decent sized meal. I had also asked when booking to be seated in a certain area because of my disability, hence my early booking. When we arrived the waitress said they had no reference on her list and we were seated somewhere else with 2 tables of differing heights pushed together. Because of this, we will be dining elsewhere in future, as there are plenty of pubs and restaurants in the area that are willing to provide a service that puts their customers first and make their experience enjoyable.
