About The Curlew

The Curlew in Bournemouth is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Book a table online, or make the best of the British weather by lingering over a relaxing drink in our pretty beer garden.

A Little Pub History

The Curlew has had a varied and interesting history. The building was constructed in the 1800’s and served as a farm mostly producing root vegetables. After gaining its license, the building became Mulligan’s fish restaurant, then a themed pub and was more recently called The Manor before settling on being named after the wading bird – the Curlew.

The great British roast

Sunday just isn’t the same without a roast dinner. Hand carved meat, fresh seasonal vegetables piled up high, some crispy roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding. Traditional Sunday lunch is a speciality at The Curlew so why not gather up some friends and family and let us do the washing up this Sunday.
