The Bear & Bells is a Victorian public house in the heart of the market town of Beccles, situated on a site which has supported licensed premises since 1620.

It was previously known as the Bear & is a grade 2 listed building. Adjacent to Beccles bus station, close to the centre of town, near to the river Waveney, the newly refurbished Bear & Bells is handy for shoppers & visitors to the Broads

The new centre bar has a large drinking area with comfortable settees in front of an open log fire lit during the winter months. A separate dining area, with another open log fire, customers can enjoy excellent pub food selected from the extensive menu or choose from the daily changed special board.

Whether its just a quiet drink in friendly & comfortable surroundings or you wish to dine, the Management and ‘crew’ hope you enjoy your visit to our traditional public house and restaurant

We pride ourselves on our quality food, sourced wherever possible from local suppliers. we use local meats and local fish in season. we have an extensive wine list, a wide selection of real ales and even champagne by the glass!

Should you have any dietary requests let us know and we will advise you accordingly on our ingredients. Our restaurant and terrace ( weather permitting) are open 7 days a week both lunch times and evenings. We are open all day every day! Reservations are advised. We also have a courtyard garden in which to enjoy a drink, snack or meal. Why not take advantage of our special boards, available for lunch and evening meals.

Planning a party? Why not view our elegant function room which can seat 70 covers comfortably and is also available for private parties, weddings, family occasions and corporate functions.
