  1. Nice family restaurant. Friendly service and lots of choice for meats and veg. We skipped pudding and got an ice cream next to the nearby Colwick Country Park. A perfect one-two combo for a sunny Sunday afternoon.

  2. This place is a bit hit and miss, but more so if you opt for the vegetarian option.
The meat is standard. so that’s routine, but quality drops when you ask for one of the microwaved alternatives. Ours was frozen inside!

If you go when it’s busy, you may also find the tables are less than clean, and the usual problem with sticky menus.

And there are often kids in this place, so it’s not one for a quiet lunch. They do a good roast, but the environment lets it down.

  3. just been for a carvery here with my 2 sons and im very dissapointed ,the place was a total mess with dirty tables and food all over the floor, it took at least 10 minutes for someone to come and greet us,this is sunday night at 8pm so not very busy, my 5 yr old son wanted a little turkey and 1 sausage but the abrupt girl carving wouldnt let him ( one or the other) so he got enough turkey for a baby. i had beef very small portion again, they had no pork no gammon and very dried up turkey, all the veg was again very dried up and uneatable, the price had also gone up from £7.00 to £9.50 (i dont mind paying good money for decent food but this was shocking), i have been here before but this was by far the worst. i wont be going there ever again for sure, total waste of money, pete

  4. We recently had a carvery to celebrate my Dads birthday at Colwick Nottingham. We have been several times, and it is a hit and miss. Also depends what day, and time of day you go. We kept away for a while because dinner was cold, or veg was dried up, and as for the stuffing it looks terrible. Mum started to visit again, to see if it had improved, as the carvery went down hill. Mum said it was lovely and started going on a weekly basis with my Dad. Thought great I will take Dad there for his birthday, or four dinners where cold, veg dried up, plates cold Mum didn’t eat hers. We all came home very disappointed, and I said this is the last time i would ever step foot in the Toby again.
