With easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the South The Fettykil Fox is ideally placed for business and leisure. Why not try fly fishing on Loch Leven or visit one of the many championship golf courses in nearby St Andrews, Carnoustie and Gleneagles. The picturesque villages of Elie and Crail are also close by.
Close to Lomond Hills Park and handy for cycling the Boblingen Way, The Fettykill Fox is a well-known and popular stop off. Its rather unusual name derives from ‘fetekil’ meaning old village green.
The Sunday roast dinner is a Great British pub-food tradition The Fettykil Fox wholeheartedly honour – and as a country pub, it’s our duty to offer the fine folk of Glenrothes a fitting feast every weekend.
Tuck into Sundays, Vintage style
Sundays at your favourite Vintage are the perfect occasion to gather together your loved ones. We serve a minimum of two of the following hand-carved meats plus a vegetarian option, as always with crispy roast potatoes, fresh vegetables and lashings of gravy…
- Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding
- Roast turkey with stuffing
- Herb crusted loin of sweet-cured pork (sourced from one of the only specialist bacon and gammon curers in the UK still using traditional methods)
- Carrot and nut roast
To wash it all down, we recommend one of our fine wines or seasonal ask ales. Roast beef and real ale – now there’s a rare Sunday pairing.
Make your own traditions
Eating out at your local pub on Sunday isn’t just about the traditional roast. For example, we’ve got braised pork belly and lamb shank for those who prefer a twist on a classic.
At The Fettykil Fox, our freshly roasted Sunday dinners are very popular and whilst we try to serve them until 5pm, once they are gone that’s it until next Sunday! Book a table now to enjoy your Sunday roast with family and friends.

Write a Review
I have been Working here in the Area for 2 weeks now, along wit some work colleagues and fancied a bit of a change of cusine and the usual Curries, Chinese,s etc. I looked for a carvery or something Like it on the Net, came up with The Fettykil Fox. Well We looked at the Menu and made our choices. We commented to each other how it looked a popular place and we awaited patiently for our first coarse. We waited some 20mins for a bowl of soup and some battered Mushrooms. The soup was ordinary to say the least, but sufficed. 2 of us opted for a Lamb Shank Shepherds pie with the most unbelievable sounding mash and Red wine gravy. I also asked for a side order of Mash and one of my colleagues asked for hand cut thick chips. Hand cut my A-se. The Lamb Shank was nothing short of a bone and a little fat and gristle. At this point I complained to the Waiter about the Quantity and definitely the Quality The few peas on the side of the plate were dry and the meal was a rip off. Even though I was spared some of the Bill. We eat all over the country and world and this has to be among the worst to date. Im sorry but You have to do something about this. Im going to await response before making a comment on Trip advisor.
Hi Shaun,
Sorry to hear you had a bad meal, however we are not affiliated with any of the places on here so there isn’t a lot we can do hopefully by leaving this review and rating it as a 1 star place then it’ll spare other people having a bad meal also.
Hopefully next time you can find a much better place, and make sure you come back and rate or review that one too!
