Faced with the famous wildlife reserve, Southampton Commons, The Cowherds is situated next to a pretty wild haven, and also near central Southampton and the university. The charming rustic design reflects the traditional British pub menu, and the al fresco beer garden has beautiful views over the Commons.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Cowherds menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies designed by celebrity chef James Martin offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Cowherds ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

  1. sunday dinner was lovely. Excellent customer service and very good quality food. Our waiter was Samuel. He couldn’t do enough for us. Our first visit but definitely not the last.
