We believe that Sunday is the king of the week.

It is a day when you can relax with family and friends without the demands that other days place upon us.

Here at The Bear there is a great buzz in the atmosphere right through the day. We open at 11:00am for coffee and start serving our Sunday menu at 12:00 midday. At around 5:30pm we switch to our dinner menu to ensure that our offerings are the freshest that they can be.

You can dine throughout. Our restaurant is fully serviced and it is highly recommended to book right through the day. In the bar you can eat too in a less formal style.

Our Sunday roasting meats come from a Hampshire based butchers. We offer three individual cuts of rump of west country beef, outdoor reared loin of dingley dell pork & half roasted chicken with seasonal garnishes. New to our Sundays is the offer of a two and three course set menu. Choose from a selected menu £18.25 for two courses and £22.75 for three (£2.75 supplement for rump of beef applies).

The Sunday menu is also complimented with seasonal dishes specially prepared by Peter for this day only each week. This time of year expect to see the lighter, fresher colours of the summer, along with the harvested freshness of the fish from the seas that surround the British Isles.

You can also make use of our Private Dining Room with its twelve seater gothic table, formal table setting, log fire and candelabra. This room is the perfect venue for our carve your own roast menu. You can select the cuts of meat that you would like and this will be served to you with goose fat roasted potatoes, honey roasted carrots, roasted parsnip, green beans, yorkshire puddings & gravy – three courses, £27.50 per person.

Out in the bar there are always plenty of Sunday Papers to read by the fire whilst enjoying a pint of Young’s Bitter, a Mean Time Craft Beer, a glass of wine from our extensive list or even a freshly squeezed orange juice.
